“Impressionist layers of oil, pastel, and gold leaf — translating nature into emotion.”
My practice is grounded in painting and drawing, working primarily with water mixable oils and soft pastels, while often experimenting with multimedia elements such as gold leaf and even 3 dimensional sculptures.
Impressionism influences my approach to colour, light, and gesture, with a particular devotion to the natural world — especially trees, woods, and the countless shades of green they hold.
I draw deeply from both personal experience and my immediate environment, weaving memory with symbolism to create works that resonate on an emotional level. Nostalgia is a thread throughout my art: I want viewers to pause, to sense familiarity, and to leave with a feeling that is both positive and quietly reflective. By layering media and embracing the unexpected in process, my work remains open and evolving, much like the landscapes and inner worlds that inspire it.
